In addition to being one of the nations most talented and respected stand-up comics, Sue Murphy recently won two Emmy awards for her outstanding work writing and producing the Ellen Degeneres Show. A very deserving achievement for this diverse writer who also spent a season as story editor on Fox’s series Wanda at Large and who just completed an original pilot for CBS.
As a performer Sue has made many national television appearances including her own half-hour special Comedy Central Presents Sue Murphy, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and multiple appearances on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. Not to mention the season she spent playing the sarcastic friend on The Jeff Foxworthy Show. Currently Sue can be seen playing herself opposite Wanda Sykes on the Comedy Central series Wanda Does It.
Sue has been featured at prestigious comedy events around the world such as the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, and the Melbourne Comedy Festival in Australia, where she taped an appearance on Comedy Central’s World Comedy Tour.
In 2001 Sue was honored with a nomination for the American Comedy Award For Best Female Stand-Up.
