Anjelah Nicole Johnson was born and raised in San Jose, CA. She is Mexican and Native American descent. Anjelah is one of 5 children. She has 3 brothers, 1 sister, a ton of aunts and uncles and even more cousins!
Her strong family support has been instrumental throughout her journey in the entertainment industry. Anjelah’s introduction to life as an entertainer began at the age of 8 as a Pop-Warner cheerleader.
She continued as a cheerleader throughout high school, college, and finally professionally for the Oakland Raiders. As an Oakland Raiderette she was named Rookie of the Year and performed in Super Bowl XXXVII. After studying for 3 years in college Anjelah decided that it was time to make ‘the big move’ to Los Angeles and pursue entertaining professionally.
Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Anjelah began dancing, acting, modeling and lending her voice professionally. Since relocating, Anjelah has been featured in magazines and commercials for companies such as: Sprint, Visa, Snickers, Verizon, All-State, Washington Mutual, K-Swiss, and Dryers Ice Cream just to name a few!
Being the funny girl that she is, Anjelah found herself in a stand-up comedy class where the final assignment was to perform at a live comedy club. This “class assignment” would prove to be one of the most pivotal experiences in her life. The feeling she had on stage that night was one that couldn’t be forgotten; one that would drive her to continue working as a stand-up comedian.
Since that day she has worked as a headlining stand up comedian in renowned comedy clubs, casinos, colleges, and churches.
